So maybe my friends really don't think I'm crazy cause they all know I'm doing something crafty. Like when I say, "I'm tying strips of fabric to a basket." and they say, "HUH?" They really know I'm doing something that makes sense.
See, I have this basket that I love because it's the perfect size but it was cheap and is now broken. I'd thought bout wrapping ribbon but that just didn't work. So, I started tying strips of fabric that were cut with a pinking blade to measure 2" x 12-14" and started tying. As I tied, my basket started gaining new life again.
I tied, and tied and cut strips until I finally started getting the look I wanted. Which even my 8 year old son thought was . .." Awe Mom, that's sooo cute!".
I tied all the way around and spaced them by the vertical rungs in the basket. Then I cut some additional fabric to go with them and "Voila".
We really needed 5 seats around our table. Being that Jake is almost 3 and sits in a booster seat now. So, I pulled out this old chair that I never fixed to go with our kitchen table and chairs and fixed it up. Then, I dug this out...
Yeah, not very impressive huh? It needed work, so I removed all the hardware and straps, sanded it lightly and gave it a coat of black paint.
Then using the old cover as a guide, I made a new cover and pieced everything back together. Carefully and replacing a connector to strap the seat to the chair. I took the plastic buckle off and replaced it with D'Rings since the buckle on the other strap was missing, this worked out perfect.
This time I added vinyl to the chair. Much better for cleaning up stuck on food and I think any baby sitting in this chair will feel like royalty.
So, whatcha think?
