Last year, my babies and I dove into the Peaceful Preschool Curriculum. I had received a promo code and a sample via a friend and decided to try it out. I loved their schedule , their book list was phenomenal, and the supply list was easy. I feel head over heels for the approach they used to learning. As an educator and reading specialist, when it comes to education, I am a planner. The Peaceful Preschool curriculum allowed me to do fun activities with my little ones like the one below...
I happen to think that this apple pie recipe is the best in the world. Simply because it is easy for little ones to make and the crust is so delightful. It was made with fresh apples that my little ones washed, peeled and helped dice. I would say this little recipe and activity for the letter "A" is an award winning one.
Following the recipe for mixing the diced apples with seasoning allowed my little ones to make this recipe almost completed from scratch. We cheated a little with a super easy idea for the crust and it was YUMMY.
Between sheets of cellophane (or you could use parchment paper) we unrolled canned cinnamon rolls and rolled them back up end to end to make one large cinnamon roll. We rolled the dough out to form the bottom crust. We did this again to form the top pie crust.
After adding the bottom crust we filled it with our apply mixture. Then we did the same procedure to make the top crust.
After baking the pie according to the recipe instructions, I used the cinnamon roll icing to drizzle around and around the top. This is absolutely the best apple pie in the world and was so tasty. Maybe I'm partial because it was made with tiny hands, but it really was excellent.
The complete recipe is available with the Peaceful Preschool curriculum.
I love to cook but only if the meals are healthy, easy, and yummy. .
